Manchester United legend Steve Bruce has been tipped as a potential option for the job as interim manager at his former club.

United have indicated they’ll be looking to appoint a temporary boss until the end of the season following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Sunday.

Michael Carrick has been handed the reins for the time being, with no indication yet of who could step into the fold to see the club through until the end of the current campaign — when they intend to appoint their next long-term boss.

Bruce is of course available following his sacking from Newcastle earlier this season, and reports have suggested the former United captain would be interested in making a return to Old Trafford.
