Manchester United supporters have called into question L’Equipe’s player ratings after the club beat Villarreal 2-0 to qualify for the Champions League last 16.
The French paper notably marked down the United starting eleven despite the victory and clean sheet. Donny van de Beek was given a score of three out of ten, with Cristiano Ronaldo - who scored the opening goal - and David De Gea both handed sevens.
Jadon Sancho only scored a six after scoring his first goal for the club. Harry Maguire was also rated a six while the rest of the side were given either a four or a five.
Conversely, L’Equipe gave Villarreal a more healthy rating with every starting eleven player scoring a five or a six. Their team average was a score of 5.6 while
