'Millionaire castaway' who's spent 23 years on desert island shares isolation tips

David Glasheen isn’t fazed by lockdown rules. The 76-year-old has been living off-grid for decades. After quitting his job as a millionaire stockbroker, he decided to move to a island off the coast of north Australia in 1997.

He’s now a pro at social distancing on Restoration Island. David headed to the location with nothing but a small suitcase. He only had shirts, shorts, swimming trunks, a torch, books, a jar of chilli powder and toiletries to survive on.

Thankfully for us, David has shared words of advice for those who are finding the coronavirus pandemic difficult. He told Mail Online : “Start learning about how to be independent and survive on very little. “I grew up this way and I loved it.
