Alex Pullin dead: Australian world champion snowboarder, 32, drowns off Gold Coast

Australian snowboarder Alex Pullin has died after drowning off the Gold Coast while spearfishing. The two-time world champion was spotted unconscious underwater and was unresponsive when pulled to the shore by lifeguards.

As reports the BBC, paramedics tried desperately to save him at the scene, but their attempts to revive him sadly proved unsuccessful.

Pullin, 32, had been fishing off a beach on Queensland's Gold Coast on Wednesday, when a snorkeller saw him submerged on an artificial reef just before 11am.
