Met Office has warned that more snow is to come this week with temperatures set to take another icy plunge.Weather in the UK has been grisly for some time now despite a glorious warm spell sending temperatures soaring last month.

Last week saw the mercury plummet below zero as millions of Brits were blasted with snow, and this week could be even worse. In their forecast for Tuesday (April 5) to Thursday (April 7), the Met Office say: "Rain for many northern areas Tuesday, brighter in the south.

Snow across parts of Scotland Wednesday, showers elsewhere. Cold Thursday, snow showers in the north, perhaps some rain far south."They also warn of "wintry showers" towards the end of the week.

Advanced weather modelling maps from WX Charts also forecast a dumping of the white stuff this week, with it falling in Scotland on Tuesday and Wednesday before moving southward across the UK on Thursday and Friday.
