Met Office is predicting freezing conditions on Sunday morning before temperatures rise at the start of next week.They encourage Brits to stay cautious about the ice and to take care when out walking and driving.High pressure is moving in from the west, bringing warmer and wet weather, but there is also the likelihood of snow when it mixes with cold air from the north.Meanwhile, maps from WXCharts show widespread snow up and down the country next Friday and Saturday, with up to 25 centimeters falling in Wales and Scotland.Torrential rain and gales after the weekend will add to the misery before the gates to the North Pole fling back open.Britain is just days away from an Arctic hell with further snow and -11C temperatures about to be unleashed by a "descending polar front".Monday will be overcast and unsettled with thick cloud cover and outbreaks of rain sinking southwards, which will be locally heavy in the north and west.
Jim Dale, meteorologist for British Weather Services, has said that although it'll be a slightly milder weekend, the cold will hit straight back later in the week.
