Noel Clarke is said to be suing the BAFTAs for revoking his membership in the wake of the sexual misconduct allegations which had been made against him.
Reportedly the actor-turned-director, 46, is suing for defamation as the revoking of his membership came after he vehemently denied the claims.
Noel was accused by 20 women of groping, harassment and bullying in article published by The Guardian in April of last year.
Now, according to The Sunday Times, the Viewpoint actor has filed papers against BAFTA last week. Reacting to the reported lawsuit, a BAFTA spokesperson told Metro Online: “A year ago, Bafta was transparent about what led to Mr Clarke’s award and membership being suspended following serious accusations of groping, harassment and bullying by 20 women published by The Guardian. “We stand by our decision and are very surprised by the news he now wishes to sue the arts charity.
