If the producers at Love Island aren’t very careful, the addictive reality show could find itself losing its broadcasting licence it has been warned.
Ofcom’s director of broadcasting standards, Adam Baxter, has stated that the regulatory body is taking a very tough stance on how contestants on reality shows are treated that could see, in extreme cases, channels being taken off-air.
In light of tragedies that have befallen former contestants, Love Island bosses have announced their duty of care in line with the new regulations to protect participants in reality shows that Ofcom is demanding to ensure the TV money-spinner is allowed to continue.
