Love Island's Sharon Gaffka calls for Iain Stirling and Laura Whitmore to be replaced
Love Island star Sharon Gaffka has called for a major shake-up to the ITV2 dating show which would see both commentator Iain Stirling and host Laura Whitmore replaced.Sharon appeared on the 2021 series of Love Island, where she failed to find love after coupling up with the likes of Hugo Hammond. The former contestant told Daily Star how she was "too much" for the men of the villa, and determined to be herself no matter what - and that included coming out as bisexual on the programme.READ NEXT: Love Island's Gemma Owen leaves fans aghast as she checks vagina before 'massage'Since coming out of the villa, Sharon has been very vocal about her passion for more LGBTQ+ representation in Love Island - and changing the hosts could be the key, she says.In an exclusive interview with Daily Star, Sharon explained: "It’s not that I would change the format, but Love Island USA has managed to have openly bisexual contestants this year, so I don’t understand why we couldn’t have the same."I did the A Gay and a NonGay podcast and we had conversations that, if it was 'logistically difficult', as they worded it, to have LGBTQ representation in the contestants, why then not more in other aspects of the show?"As much as I think Iain Stirling is great at his job, we could have maybe a gay comedian or a queer comedian do Unseen Bits, for example."She added: "Or, Laura Whitmore’s great at hosting the show, but have different hosts for Aftersun. It doesn’t have to be the same people.
