Prince Harry allegedly upset certain members of Palace staff in a recent acceptance speech where he spoke about dedicating himself to a "life of service", an insider has claimed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex appeared at the NAACP Image Awards last week and took it in turns to speak on stage as they collected their award.
Harry praised his wife, Meghan, saying: "I think it’s safe to say that I come from a very different background from my incredible wife, yet our lives were brought together for a reason. "We share a commitment to a life of service, a responsibility to combat injustice, and a belief that the most often overlooked are the most important to listen to."But Palace insiders have claimed that certain members of staff described the speech as "hurtful" and felt attacked by it.Talking to Heat, one insider said: "That comment about ‘a lifetime of service’ felt like a bit of a dig, as that’s what being a member of the royal family is meant to entail.“It grates that, despite quitting the royal family for a supposedly quieter life, Meghan and Harry are always popping up to tell everyone how well-intentioned they are."There was no reference to Harry’s family in the acceptance speech, no recognition of the education he received in the UK or the people who helped him become the man he is today.
