Kim Kardashian’s ‘slim thick’ figure is ‘more harmful for body image’: study
a study conducted by Toronto’s York University discovered that “slim-thick” imagery online causes more body dissatisfaction amongst young women. The study actually named the Kardashian mogul and her sister Kylie Jenner as influencers who contribute to the discontent women feel about their bodies because of their online content. The “slim-thick” body ideal — defined by the researchers as “a curvier or more full-body type, characterized by a small waist and flat stomach but large butt, breasts and thighs” — has become more idolized in mainstream media in recent years.“The hashtags #thick, #thicc and #slimthick have 6.2 million, 3.4 million, and 1 million posts on Instagram respectively, and the hashtag #slimthicc has 134 million tags on TikTok,” the researchers said of 2021 social trends. While a thin, Kate Moss-esque frame might have been ideal in years prior, that trend is out and the Kim K’s of the world are in.But those curves aren’t all they’re cracked up to be.The family of influencers is regularly outed for egregious photoshop fails, including this week when Kim’s leg fell victim to some heavy-handed editing, prompting its removal from her Instagram. It’s become routine to digitally alter photos, the York University study said, “thus making the thin ideal even thinner and less attainable for the average woman.”While it’s not illegal to alter a photo or get plastic surgery, of course, body acceptance influencer Mik Zazon, 26, told The Post it’s “manipulating authenticity” by not being transparent about it.A post shared by Mik Zazon (@mikzazon)The Ohio-based content creator, who has over one million followers said one example is when Kim shared her psoriasis outbreak on her face in a selfie posted to Instagram, which made

UFC fighter Vanessa Demopoulos lands first win six weeks after quitting job as stripper
UFC fighter Vanessa Demopoulos landed her first win inside the octagon on Saturday night after quitting her career as a stripper. The 33-year-old signed with the promotion last year but lost her debut fight against JJ Aldrich.Having already appeared on Dana White’s Contender Series and lost, Demopoulos decided to quit her 13-year career as an “exotic entertainer” just eight weeks ago in order to fully focus ahead of her training camp. And the decision paid off massively as the Ohio native cruised to her first ever UFC win by submitting Silvana Gomez Juarez with an arm-bar in the first round.Talking at her post-fight press conference, Demopoulos said: “I don’t think it’s a secret, I was an exotic entertainer for 13 years.“And I didn’t actually say it on the mic, but I’d like to say it right now: I walked away from being a stripper to continue this camp.“I quit dancing about six to eight weeks ago just so I could focus full-time on MMA, take this extremely seriously in the gym every single day."She also went on to say that her previous career has helped when it comes to certain Jiu-Jitsu moves.Demopoulos joked with a reporter: "That's my stripper guard right there.Want to be on the ball with all of the latest football news?Well then sign up for the brilliant Daily Star football email newsletter! From the latest transfer news to the agenda-setting stories, get it all in your email inbox - don't miss a thing. It only takes a matter of seconds.Simply type your email address into the box at the top of this article and hit 'subscribe'.And that's it, job done.

Google Maps user spots bloke's shocking gesture at Street View camera
Google Maps user has spotted an American bloke’s crude gesture that he made as a Street View camera drove past his house. The image has been posted on Reddit, with the user – u/107090 – giving it the ironic headline of “A scholarly gentleman in Michigan, USA”.The screen grab shows the man, who is wearing a grey T-shirt, shorts and a cap and is standing next to his pick-up truck, flipping the bird to the camera as it drives past.In response, user PoniesPlayingPoker says: “That is the most Michigan picture I've ever seen.”It’s just the latest strange discovery by sleuths, who have had great fun trying to spot the weird and wonderful sights that have been picked up – either deliberately or inadvertently – by Google’s cameras. One Google Maps user was left baffled recently after he came across an enormous rubber duck floating in the middle of a lagoon. The oddity was spotted on the shore of the artificial Lake of the Family Park in the middle of Santiago, the capital of Chile.Another Reddit user found an even more bizarre image of a man apparently dressed as a knight as he walked his two dogs.Clad head to toe in medieval attire, it looked as though he'd stepped away from the Round Table to allow his pets to do their business in Cleveland, Ohio. The long-haired man had a rope tied around his waist and a yellow cross on the right side of his chest, while his arms looked as though they were covered in chainmail.
