Depeche Mode‘s Dave Gahan, Queens Of The Stone Age‘s Josh Homme, Chrissie Hynde and more have been announced as performers for a Mark Lanegan tribute show this winter.Titled “Mark Lanegan – A celebration”, the one off show will celebrate the late singer and songwriter who passed away at the age of 57 back in early 2022. It will take place on December 5 on what would have been his 60th birthday at London’s Roundhouse which was where he made his final live appearance in the city.Other musicians set to perform at the show include the likes of Primal Scream‘s Bobby Gillespie, Greg Dulli, The Kills‘ Alison Mosshart, Soulsavers and more.

Check out the details below.Titled ‘Come Ahead: The Remixes Vol 1 (Vocals)’, the new album is set for release on March 28 via BMG. It sees the band share 11 remixes of the music that featured in their critically acclaimed album.With new spins on tracks like ‘Love Insurrection’ and ‘Ready To Go Home’, the new version of Primal Scream’s 12th LP features remixes from numerous artists.

Pet Shop Boys have shared a new remix of the Primal Scream track ‘Innocent Money’, featuring Neil Tennant on vocals.The release comes as part of the ongoing ‘Come Ahead’ remix project – which sees Primal Scream share re-imagined versions of each song from their latest album.The latest addition tackles the ‘Innocent Money’ track, and sees iconic band Pet Shop Boys put their own distinctive mark on the song, complete with Neil Tennant’s signature vocals. Check it out below to hear the Chicago-influenced acid house charm it puts on the original.“When we were discussing possible remixers for the ‘Come Ahead’ album with our producer David Holmes I had a gut feeling that asking the Pet Shop Boys to remix ‘Innocent Money’ might be a good idea,” said Bobby Gillespie.“I felt that the song’s marriage of a socially conscious lyric sung over an ecstatic, discofied string-laden stomping rhythm track might appeal to Neil and Chris’s sense of pop aesthetics.

Nick Cave, PJ Harvey, Devo and more have been announced as contributors featured on the ‘Los Angeles Rising’ wildfire relief benefit compilation album.The Los Angeles wildfires, which began on January 7, have left 28 people dead, more than 12,000 structures destroyed and saw the evacuation of more than 150,000 residents.Created by Kevin Haskins (Love and Rockets, Bauhaus) and producer Nick Launay (Nick Cave, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, IDLES), all proceeds from ‘Los Angeles Rising’ will go to Sweet Relief – a musicians fund that helps provide financial assistance to musicians and music industry workers. Erol Alkan has marked the 18th anniversary of the London indie and electro club night Trash closing down by sharing his classic DJ set from 2002.Trash was best known for its connections to the 2000s scenes like the garage rock revival, electroclash and new rave.Bands like Yeah Yeah Yeahs, LCD Soundsystem, Scissor Sisters, Bloc Party and Klaxons performed there early on in their careers. Primal Scream brought out Paul Weller for ‘Rocks’ at the Brixton Academy Gig For Gaza benefit show last night (December 13).Weller, former frontman of The Jam, curated the line-up for the benefit show which was raising money for MAP (Medical Aid For Palestinians) and Gaza Forever. Both charities provide essential aid – including food, medical supplies and emergency shelter – for those suffering in Gaza amid the current humanitarian crisis.At the end of Primal Scream’s 45-minute set, Weller joined them for ‘Rocks’, playing the song’s iconic opening riff on guitar.Check out the full set below:The band took to Instagram the next day to thank Weller and his wife Hannah for organising the gig, while also praising the other artists who performed.

Primal Scream‘s Bobby Gillespie has spoken out about his position in society and seemingly taken a pop at Blur‘s Alex James.The frontman, who was brought up in a working class environment, has written an essay accompanying the band’s new album ‘Come Ahead’, which is out today (November 8).In it he said: “I find myself in the strange position of being both inside and outside of [class],” which is something he “wrestles with”.In a new interview with The i, he elaborated on the statement adding: “’Wrestles’ might be overstating the case but if you’re in a successful band, you get invited to things, know people from different classes, you’ve experienced things. It’s not like you’re trying to be like the guy from Blur [Alex James] hanging out with David Cameron and what’s his name, the guy that does the driving? [Jeremy Clarkson].“That’s obviously social climbing going on there, right? I don’t mean it like that.

Pulp have announced details of their first show for 2025, taking place at a huge new festival in Japan.Announced today (August 15), the new tour date will be held as part of the new Rockin’ On Sonic festival, which will take place at the Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall in Chiba.Held between January 4 and 5, the recently shared line-up sees the Jarvis Cocker-led band top the bill, alongside California rock band Weezer.Also on the first list of artists confirmed for the new festival are Manic Street Preachers, Primal Scream, The Lemon Twigs and Wednesday.More artists set to perform at Rockin’ On Sonic 2025 are set to be announced at a later date, and tickets for the festival go to pre-sale on Tuesday (August 20). Primal Scream have collaborated on a new shirt design for a Palestinian refugee football team, based on their classic album ‘Screamadelica’.Frontman Bobby Gillespie confirmed the news in an Instagram video today (August 8), explaining that the team Lajee Celtic, who are a refugee club based in the Aida Camp in Bethlehem in Palestine’s West Bank.The shirt has been designed in conjunction with clothing brand A Number Of Names, as well as The Green Brigade, a supporters group for Celtic FC, the club which Gillespie supports.“The camp has lived under the rule of Israeli military occupation since 1947,” Gillespie says in the video. “Yet despite these abominable conditions, the people of the camp find joyful resistance in the game of football.”A post shared by Primal Scream (@primalscreamofficial)“Football, the universal, democratic sport.

It’ll contain 11 new tracks, and is set to see songwriter, vocalist and frontman Bobby Gillespie deliver some of his most personal and emotionally-open work of his career.The writing process began back in 2022, and came during a time when Gillespie was unsure if he would make another Primal Scream album again.

Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie joined Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes on stage in London last night to perform their 2021 collaboration ‘Original Sin’ – check it out below. The appearance was part of the Rattlesnakes’ show at the Roundhouse on Friday night (February 16), the last in a run of UK headline shows for the band. ‘Original Sin’ was first released as the final track on the band’s 2021 album ‘Sticky’, with Gillespie lending his vocals to the album version too.
