Erol Alkan has marked the 18th anniversary of the London indie and electro club night Trash closing down by sharing his classic DJ set from 2002.Trash was best known for its connections to the 2000s scenes like the garage rock revival, electroclash and new rave.Bands like Yeah Yeah Yeahs, LCD Soundsystem, Scissor Sisters, Bloc Party and Klaxons performed there early on in their careers. It was first located in Soho, before moving to the West End.Alkan, the DJ and producer who ran the iconic night, played classics from artists like Peaches, Missy Elliott, Primal Scream, The Cure, Nirvana and Kylie Minogue in his set, and you can check out the tracklist here:A post shared by TRASH (@trashclublondon)Alkan explained in The Guardian in 2006, weeks before Trash would close its doors, “Had someone told me on the first night that it would run for 10 years, I’m not too sure that I would have believed them.

Soulwax have shared details of their first set of live shows in five years, with a 13-date tour in the UK and Europe kicking off next year.The Belgian electro-rock duo are bringing a full band to stages at venues across France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain and Belgium, with UK shows at London’s The Roundhouse and Manchester’s New Century Hall.Soulwax’s latest album was 2018’s ‘Essential’. 2manydjs are re-releasing their 2002 LP ‘As Heard On Radio Soulwax Pt.2’ to mark the 20th anniversary, and playing a show in London.The DJs, brothers Stephen and David Dewaele, will be giving the mix a deluxe reissue treatment, featuring restored photography from Richard Young. Klaxons member James Righton has shared a new collaboration with ABBA‘s Benny Andersson – listen to ‘Empty Rooms’ below.The track is the latest preview of Righton’s new solo album, ‘Jim, I’m Still Here’, which was announced this month and will land on July 8 via Soulwax‘s label DEEWEE and made in collaboration with David and Stephen Dewaele.Righton met Andersson when putting together the live band for ABBA’s forthcoming Voyage live residency in London, which begins next month.“He’s never done anything like this before,” Righton said of Andersson’s contribution to the track. “I nervously sent him the track and a couple of days later he sent back this keyboard line which was perfect“’Empty Rooms’ is about silent conflicts,” he added.
