UFC fighter Vanessa Demopoulos landed her first win inside the octagon on Saturday night after quitting her career as a stripper.

The 33-year-old signed with the promotion last year but lost her debut fight against JJ Aldrich.Having already appeared on Dana White’s Contender Series and lost, Demopoulos decided to quit her 13-year career as an “exotic entertainer” just eight weeks ago in order to fully focus ahead of her training camp. And the decision paid off massively as the Ohio native cruised to her first ever UFC win by submitting Silvana Gomez Juarez with an arm-bar in the first round.Talking at her post-fight press conference, Demopoulos said: “I don’t think it’s a secret, I was an exotic entertainer for 13 years.“And I didn’t actually say it on the mic, but I’d like to say it right now: I walked away from being a stripper to continue this camp.“I quit dancing about six to eight weeks ago just so I could focus full-time on MMA, take this extremely seriously in the gym every single day."She also went on to say that her previous career has helped when it comes to certain Jiu-Jitsu moves.Demopoulos joked with a reporter: "That's my stripper guard right there.Want to be on the ball with all of the latest football news?Well then sign up for the brilliant Daily Star football email newsletter! From the latest transfer news to the agenda-setting stories, get it all in your email inbox - don't miss a thing. It only takes a matter of seconds.Simply type your email address into the box at the top of this article and hit 'subscribe'.And that's it, job done.
