Lidl has recalled one of its food items after a labelling error rendered it 'unsafe to eat.' The product had a use-by date reading 'Jun 25,' but this should instead have said 'Jan 25.' Lidl Northern Ireland confirmed its packs of Deluxe Irish Carved Peppered Turkey Breast, weighing 130g, were affected.

Customers who have bought the product are being advised not to eat it. Lidl said: "Our supplier, Flamewood is recalling the above Deluxe Irish Carved Peppered Turkey Breast due to the incorrect use by date printed on the product. Try MEN Premium now with our amazing New Year offer...

The supermarket added: "Lidl wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused. Any customers with queries or concerns can contact our customer services team." It comes as Lidl was among a number of supermarkets accused of ripping off customers through the rest of the year after massive price cuts before Christmas.
