Public health bosses are investigating reports of people testing positive for Covid-19 using lateral flow tests, then negative in subsequent PCR tests.

They stressed 'anecdotal reports' had been received - and said there was no evidence of any technical issues with tests or equipment.

The chief medical adviser at the UK Health Security Agency, the new name for Public Heath England, said they were 'looking into the cause'.
