Bloody footage shows Uddingston machete attack victim stretchered into ambulance

This is the moment a blood-stained man went into an ambulance on a stretcher after a 'machete' attack in South Lanarkshire.Paramedics from the Scottish Ambulance Service were called to Main Street, Uddingston, at around 2pm on Thursday, March 3 following reports of an attack.

Officers from Police Scotland confirmed to the Daily Record that a 43-year-old man was raced to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after being assaulted.

According to local reports, the man was attacked with a machete.Horrifying video footage has emerged of a man being wheeled on a stretcher by paramedics, into an ambulance, covered in blood.Initial clips, shared with the Daily Record, show an ambulance with its doors open and ramp laid out, ready to take a patient following the incident.Across the road one police car sits next to a bus shelter while two witnesses watch on.Further down the road another three police cars guard the scene, one of which is mounted the pavement.A riot van can also be seen in the clip.In the clips blood can be seen pouring from the left-hand side of the man's neck down towards his chest.He's dressed in grey skinny jeans and a grey jumper.Eyewitnesses reported seeing horror scenes on the street, where a man was reportedly seen bleeding from his head.One resident said: "I walked by on my way to Tesco.
