Meghan Markle's sister suing duchess over 'rags to riches' Oprah interview story

Meghan Markle didn't have a bad childhood like she explained in the infamous Oprah Winfrey interview, her half sister claims as she takes her to court over the claims.

Samantha Markle is suing the Duchess of Sussex for defamation after claiming she spun a "rags to royalty" narrative about herself which she claims is simply false, according to documents obtained by TMZ.

The disgruntled half sister has claimed Meghan is spreading lies about her to pedal the narrative that she has overcome her leeching family members.A representative of Meghan labelled the lawsuit as "baseless and absurd".In one example pointed out by Sam, Meghan claimed to Oprah that she was an "only child" despite her and Samantha sharing the same father Thomas Markle.

The half sister also claims that Meghan lied when she told Oprah that she'd last seen her "at least 18, 19 years ago and before that, 10 years before that".Samantha said that Meghan never grew up in "virtual poverty" as she claimed in the interview, and that her father Thomas would pay for her to attend dance and acting classes, as well as send her to "elite and private schools".She also makes the explosive claim that her dad covered Meghan's tuition fees when she attended Northwestern University, which the duchess said she did her self on The Ellen Show.The half sister says Meghan created the alleged lies so "they could not interfere with or contradict the false narrative and fairytale life story concocted by" Meghan.Samantha says that Meghan's words and claims have caused her emotional stress, prevented her from getting jobs and damaged sales to the autobiography.Meghan's attorney Michael Kump said: "This baseless and absurd lawsuit is just a continuation of a pattern of disturbing.
