Real reason Holly Willoughby's BBC show axed after one series - 'It wasn't exciting'

BBC show Freeze The Fear has been canned and co-host Lee Mack has suggested the real reason bosses pulled the plug on the series, which he presented with Holly Willoughby, was because 'it wasn't exciting.' The duo presented one series of the BBC show back in 2022 but now Not Going Out star Lee, 55, has explained that it was axed after a frosty reception. The series, which aired over a year ago, followed famous faces as they took on some epic mental and physical challenges set by 'The Iceman' himself - Dutch extreme athlete and cold-water therapy advocate, Wim Hof. Holly, 43, presented the show alongside comedian Lee as several celebrities went on a "once-in-a-lifetime, epic adventure" with the line-up including the likes of Tamzin Outhwaite, Professor Green and Dianne Buswell.

Strictly's Dianne Buswell shares secret struggle of 'not wanting to go out and entertain'
Dianne Buswell has opened up about sometimes “not wanting to go out and entertain” and how she overcomes that feeling in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk.The Strictly Come Dancing star reflected on how important inner-strength is to achieving your goals after setting a new world record. Dianne, 33, has set a new Guinness world record for furthest distance danced by a couple with professional partner Pasquale La Rocca. The dancer, who recently faced off some huge challenges in ITV’s Freeze the Fear with Wim Hof, spoke about overcoming mental barriers.“I think our minds are our strongest parts of our bodies,” Dianne explained.“There's many times, like during show days, where you kind of think ‘Oh, wow, today I’m not really feeling like I want to go out and entertain’. “Or you think, ‘I don't really feel that much of a buzz today,’ but it's all in your mind,” she continued.“So I try and just give myself a little pep talk and change my mindset and that definitely changes my mood and the way I think about what's to come.”Dianne went on to explain how she set about setting her new record, which saw her dancing for two hours and fifteen minutes without stopping. “I definitely was giving myself some pep talks before starting it, because it was like a day off for me as well - a day off from doing the show,” the Strictly star remembered. “So my body was feeling it a little bit as it was, but like I said before, it wasn't as bad as what my brain was making out to be. “And actually in the end, it was a really nice, enjoyable experience.“I felt really great after it, which was really cool,” she added cheerily. Asked how else she prepared for the long dance session, she admitted it was a little easier than expected. READ
