Holby City viewers have shared their frustration with bosses at the BBC who made the decision to axe the show after 23 years.Tuesday night (March 29) saw medical staff at the fictional hospital bow out after entertaining the nation for over two decades with their huge storylines.During the devastating final episode, viewers saw the notorious Jac Naylor (Rose Marcel) wake up after an operation that could have cost her, her life. The cardiothoracic boffin had been suffering from a brain tumour that Professor Hope (Paul Bradley) had attempted to remove.Following her surgery, Jac signed an ADRT (An Advanced Decision to Refuse Treatment), essentially telling doctors not to treat her should she endure any more complications. After pal Fletch said he hated to see Jac giving up, she responded: "Let me tell you about giving up, letting this thing take control, wipe out my mind, leaving me delirious and doubly incontinent - that's giving up."I have never been clearer about anything in my life.

Please do this one thing for me."Shortly after, she suffered a stroke and was pronounced brain dead, much to the heartbreak of her colleagues. Now, fans have taken to social media, sharing their hurt over the BBC's decision to cancel Holby, with one saying: "#HolbyCityFinale was sad to see this great programme end and can't think why.

I hoped Jac would be cured."A second added: "I'm bawling. Just caught up on the final episode. How the BBC can justify axing such a phenomenal program is beyond me. #Holby #HolbyCityFinale.""@BBCHolbyCity wow, just wow.
