murdering school teacher Sabina Nessa in a park.Koci Selamaj, 36, drove from his home in Eastbourne, East Sussex, all the way to London to carry out the pre-meditated attack on the 28-year-old September 17 last year.The perpetrator lurked around Cator Park in Kidbrooke, south-east London, for half an hour before targeting the victim as she passed through on her way to meet a friend.The killer was branded a "coward" by Sabina's heartbroken sister after he refused to appear in court for the sentencing, wit the judge also calling him "cowardly".

CCTV footage captured the moment Selamaj attacked the teacher by striking her over the head 34 times "extreme violence", using a 2ft-long metal traffic triangle, before carrying her away unconscious.A video released by the Met showed the killer booking a room at the five-star Grand Hotel in Eastbourne, the town where he already had accommodation.He then pulled up her clothes, removed her tights and underwear and strangled her before covering her body in grass.The 28-year-old's body was found nearly 24 hours later near a community centre in the park.The Albanian national has now been jailed for a minimum of 36 years, after pleading guilty at a hearing at the Old Bailey on February 25.To stay up to date with all the latest news, make sure you sign up to one of our newsletters here.The killer refused to appear in court for his sentencing on Thursday (April 7), refusing the offer of a video link that was made available to him.

Reading her statement, Sabina Nessa's sister Jabina Islam called Selamaj a "coward" for not facing up to his crime in court.She said: "You are an awful human being and do not deserve your name to be said.
