Elizabeth II (Elizabeth Alexandra Mary; born 21 April 1926) is Queen of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms. Elizabeth was born in London, the first child of the Duke and Duchess of York, later King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, and she was educated privately at home. Her father ascended the throne on the abdication of his brother King Edward VIII in 1936, from which time she was the heir presumptive. She began to undertake public duties during the Second World War, serving in the Auxiliary Territorial Service. In 1947, she married Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, a former prince of Greece and Denmark, with whom she has four children: Charles, Prince of Wales; Anne, Princess Royal; Prince Andrew, Duke of York; and Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex.

Jennie Bond has watched royal history unfold for the last 35 years from a coveted front row seat and has witnessed some of the monarchy's most high profile scandals and events first hand.

Among her memories of being familiar with Queen Elizabeth II's "icy stare" and being laughed at by the King for wearing white stilettos to stumble across a muddy field, are unbelievable stories of what happened on royal tours over the years.

It was a trip to Fraser Island off the coast of Brisbane with the then-Prince Charles that makes Jennie laugh the most as she recalls what the reporters got up to in the evening.

Speaking to us during her exclusive OK! shoot to mark her 35th anniversary as a royal reporter, Jennie explains: “When you’re travelling with the royals and when you’re travelling with other reporters there are a lot of laughs along the way.
