The 2021 Oscars will feature some new locations. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dr.
Erin Bromage of UMass Dartmouth, who is operating as the Oscars COVID-19 coordinator, discussed changes being made to the ceremony alongside the event’s producers on Tuesday (March 30) morning.
The decision comes after a number of nominees expressed concern about their ability to participate in the ceremony after it was announced that there would be no Zoom appearances allowed.
In order to address this issue, the Academy is reportedly setting up “hubs” in London and Paris to help nominees participate in-person.
