Daniel Boulton, 30, walked 28 miles from a hostel in Skegness to Louth, Lincolnshire, to kill Bethany Vincent, 26, and her nine-year-old son Darren Henson.He was sentenced on Wednesday afternoon at Lincoln Crown Court for life, with a minimum term of 40 years.The court heard that Boulton was the subject of a restraining order following a complaint by Ms Vincent and he developed a "hatred" for Darren.Boulton "loitered for hours" outside their home on High Holme Road before stabbing them "multiple times" at around 8pm on May 31 last year.The 30-year-old then proceeded to lead the police on a 24-hour manhunt until he was finally arrested the following day, on June 1.During the manhunt, Boulton is said to have injured an off-duty police officer.Boulton tried to claim he was on "autopilot" at the time of the murders and used the defence of loss of control, but jurors dismissed this.He admitted manslaughter on the second day of his trial, as well as assault with intent to resist arrest, and burglary, but he denied murder.This is a breaking news story and is constantly being updated.Please refresh the page regularly to get the latest updates.
