Emmerdale actress Chelsea Halfpenny has begged the public for their help after her grandfather became the victim of a hit and run.The soap star issued an online plea after the 85-year-old was struck by a vehicle in Gateshead on Friday evening, causing him serious injuries and leaving him in hospital in critical condition.
Chelsea, 30, best known for playing Amy Wyatt in Emmerdale, uploaded the emotional post as she called on those responsible for the incident to "do the right thing." She wrote: "There are four lads who all have mams, dads, aunties, uncles, and friends so there are a lot of people in a very small area that have information on what happened last night."Do the right thing.
You have left somebody in a critical condition. You will be found."Group of 18/19 year-olds, one with fair hair, who came back to where the 85-year-old victim was lying bleeding and picked up the pieces of their damaged car and drove away.
