Detectives have arrested four men after Emmerdale actress Chelsea Halfpenny made an emotional plea to find those responsible for her granddad's hit and run accident.
On Monday, the soap star emotionally urged any witnesses to come forward after her grandad was struck by a car in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear at the age of 85 on Friday evening, February 25.
Following the accident, Northumbria Police revealed in a statement that "an elderly man was in critical condition" after being rushed to hospital.
And on Tuesday, police confirmed that four men aged 30, 25, 23, and 18 were arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
