EastEnders' Katie Jarvis 'shouted "black lives don't matter" in seaside racist rampage'

Ex-EastEnders star Katie Jarvis shouted "Black Lives don't matter" during a racist rampage at the seaside, a court has heard.

The actress, who starred as Hayley Slater in the BBC soap, appeared at Southend Magistrates' Court today, accused of assault, racially aggravated harassment, using threatening words or behaviour, assault by beating a woman and assault by beating an 11 year old girl.

Jarvis, 29, is also said to have shouted "I was on EastEnders, I am a celebrity" during the alleged incident. Dressed in a black coat and wearing a face mask, Jarvis indicated she would plead not guilty during her appearance today.
