following death threats he received from Lewis Hamilton fans in the wake of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The Canadian driver opened up in December about the online abuse he had received following his dramatic crash in the Formula One season finale.

Latifi crashed into the barriers with only a few laps remaining at the Yas Marina circuit, which resulted in a safety car being deployed.

That allowed Max Verstappen into a position to overtake race leader Hamilton - something he did on the final lap to wrap up his first world championship at the expense of the Mercedes ace.

Latifi, whose crash inadvertently changed the destination of the championship, has revealed how he felt the need to take extra safety measures during a trip to London's Winter Wonderland with model girlfriend, Sandra Dziwiszek.Speaking at Williams' car launch on Tuesday ahead of the 2022 F1 season, he said: "It sounds silly to some people but at the end of the day, you don't know how serious people are."All it needs is one drunk fan at an airport, or you bump into someone who is having a bad day and they are intoxicated under the influence of something and they have these really extreme opinions.Will Lewis Hamilton win the 2022 F1 drivers' championship?
