Lewis Hamilton's wingman this season as he joins the Formula One title fight, according to Red Bull's Christian Horner.The 24-year-old Brit has joined Mercedes from Williams during the off-season, replacing Hamilton's former team-mate Valtteri Bottas, now of Alfa Romeo.Horner predicts that Russell will now look to challenge for this season's Drivers' Championship himself, rather than just supporting Hamilton's title bid.Hamilton controversially missed out on a record eighth world title in the final grand prix of the 2021 season to Red Bull's Max Verstappen in Abu Dhabi, ending Mercedes' run of seven successive wins.Speaking to The Sun, Horner said: “It’s the first time Mercedes have been beaten in seven years, that’s going to have hurt.
