EastEnders icon Glynis Barber set for huge Hollyoaks villain role in soap hat-trick

Emmerdale and EastEnders, she has now landed a role on Hollyoaks. We can reveal Glynis is joining the cast to play gangster Norma.The show’s new villain will prove she’s deadly serious by arriving in the village at the wheel of a hearse.An insider said: “Trouble is heading to Hollyoaks.“Norma is out for blood and she arrives in the village driving a hearse and demanding to know who has been stealing her money.”Telly veteran Glynis, who has been acting for more than four decades, is thrilled to be joining the C4 soap.She said: “I’m really excited to be playing Norma as she’s an amazing character.

Formidable, complex and taking on the men and leaving them quaking in their boots.“The team and cast have been incredibly welcoming and I can’t wait to get my teeth into the character”.Glynis played DCI Grace Barraclough in Emmerdale in 2016 and joined EastEnders in 2009 as Glenda Mitchell – mum of Ronnie and Roxy.There is good news for Hollyoaks fans too.

Starting today, the soap will stream its weekday episodes from breakfast time on All4.And you can still watch the show Monday to Friday on Channel 4 at 6.30pm.

The first-look episodes will remain on E4 at 7pm.Glynis is best known for her role as Glenda Mitchell on BBC soap EastEnders, appearing in 109 episodes as Ronnie and Roxy's mum and evil Archie Mitchell's ex.She made her first appearance in Walford in 2010 before eventually leaving in 2017.EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays on BBC at 7.30pm.
