Hollyoaks may pride itself on being a teen soap that deals with the issues that face today’s young people, but it also has a history of casting excellent actors who've had long and interesting careers already.
As the spring trailer launched today, fans were excited to see the addition of Glynis Barber as gangster Norma. She’s a soapland favourite having played Glenda Mitchell in EastEnders from 2010-2017.
Her character got into all sorts of scrapes, as Roxy (Rita Simons) and Ronnie’s (Samantha Womack) mum and villain Archie Mitchell’s ex, played by Larry Lamb.
And by landing the role in Hollyoaks, the actress is scoring a soap hat-trick, as she was also DCI Barraclough in Emmerdale in 2016, and who bedded Tom King as a honeytrap.
