Hollyoaks’ stunning sirens as Glynis Barber joins soap
ok.co.ukThere’s a treat in store for TV viewers who have fond memories of classic 80s cop drama Dempsey and Makepeace, with the news that Glynis Barber is joining Hollyoaks.
And she’s going to the other extreme this time, playing an enigmatic gangster named Norma. But of course Glynis, who went on to play Ronnie and Roxy’s mum Glenda Mitchell in EastEnders and DCI Grace Barraclough in Emmerdale, is just the latest in a long list of feisty screen sirens to stride into Chester’s most famous village.
Here are some of the others who’ve brought a certain something to the show… Tracy Childs (Patty Cornwell 2003-2004) She made her name as Lynne Howard in the drama about the gin and yacht set, Howards Way, in the 1980s.
But, in Hollyoaks Tracey played the mum of bride to be Izzy Cornwell (played by Elize du Toit) Patty had a husband, Roger, but that didn’t stop a dalliance with Jack Osborne!
