Hollyoaks star Gemma Atkinson has announced that she's set for a major new role after a brief stint back on the soap. The actress, 37, will be entertaining a much younger audience as one of CBeebies' biggest stars.
This comes after she sensationally returned to Hollyoaks last year, two decades after she first appeared on the show. From April, Gemma will feature on the kids' channel alongside Nigel Clarke on a new show called The Toddler Club.
Announcing the news this week to her 1.7million Instagram followers, Gemma said: "Yay!!! I can finally let you guys know that I’ve joined the @cbeebieshq team for their wonderful show @thebabyclubtv."This show helped me so much through the first lockdown with Mia so to now be a host feels so Great!"To the parents & toddlers who took part, THANK YOU!
This show is about showing all aspects of parenting."No judgment, lots of laughs, snot, tears and tantrums. Basically the everyday life of parenting that we all navigate in our own way."Thank you so much to the team for trusting me with my role, and to @nigelclarketv for being so welcoming."Hope you guys enjoy the show and I look forward to keeping you & your little ones company in your home from April."Gemma is best known for starring as Lisa Hunter in Hollyoaks.
