Former Liverpool centre-back Dejan Lovren has lifted the lid on how he defied club rules to join in the celebrations with supporters once their Premier League title win had been confirmed.
There were scenes of jubilation outside Anfield on June 25 when Chelsea's victory over Manchester City confirmed the Reds as champions for the first time in 30 years.
Fans partied long into the night while the players and backroom staff toasted their success in a hotel. But Lovren, now of Zenit Saint Petersburg, has revealed that despite pleas from club officials to avoid going to the stadium, he did so while wearing a mask so to as not to be recognised.
