Chelsea will have the option to re-sign Southampton’s star defender Tino Livramento in the future, according to reports.Livramento has been one of the standout young players in the Premier League this season since joining Southampton from Chelsea.Saints paid the Blues £5million for the 19-year-old full-back and have so far handed him 23 appearances across all competitions. He has been fantastic in their last two games, 2-0 wins over Everton and Norwich, and his form has reignited speculation about his future.

The Sun reports that while rumours of Manchester United’s interest are premature, Chelsea are a potential suitor due to a clause in his Southampton contract.

Chelsea were reluctant to sell Livramento in the summer after the England youth international was crowned as their academy player of the year. But they did manage to insert a potentially important clause in the deal, which will allow them to buy Livramento back in the summer of 2023 for £50m.

However, as The Athletic explains, he would actually cost the Blues around £38m as they are also in line to receive a share of the profit from his next move.
