Chances of Brits surviving coronavirus in hospital now much better, says SAGE expert

The chances of coronavirus patients surviving in hospital have risen sharply, a SAGE expert has said. Professor Peter Horby, a member of the government's chief group of scientific advisers, also warned that a second national lockdown remains a possibility.

He said that hospitals in parts of northern England - likely to get much stricter local lockdown rules tomorrow, including the closure of pubs in some areas - are already feeling the strain.
