It's called a Minimum Equipment List (MEL).“Counterintuitively, it's a list of what can be broken on the aircraft while it still remains airworthy.“It should be noted that the operational limits of the aircraft are altered to respond to broken parts.“For instance, if certain lights are broken, the aircraft is restricted to daytime use.“Interestingly, an ashtray in the bathroom is not one of these things.

Former France international Tony Vairelles has been sentenced to five years in prison after being found guilty of violence with a weapon.Vairelles was on trial for an incident that saw three bouncers injured in October 2011 after an attack at a nightclub in Meurthe-et-Moselle. Vairelles and his siblings had clashed with the men at the 4 As (Four Aces) in Nancy, Meurthe-et-Moselle's largest city.Vairelles and his brother Fabrice Vairelles were handed a five-year sentence, with two of those years suspended.

Gears Of War franchise could be getting a remastered collection in the near future.That’s according to Xbox Era journalist Nick Baker, who said on the Xbox Era podcast on May 14 that a “Master Chief Collection-type treatment” is in the works for the Gears Of War series (via VGC).“A while back I said there is another Microsoft franchise that’s getting the Master Chief Collection-type treatment, I am of the belief that that is coming this year,” said Baker on the podcast, adding “everyone has guessed it.”Last year, The Coalition, the main studio behind the Gears Of War franchise, had reportedly started work on an original game series, targeted for the Xbox Series X|S using Unreal Engine 5.However, VGC reports that the studio is rather in the early stages of developing the next Gears Of War title.The collection could be revealed at the Xbox and Bethesda showcase due next month, where there may also be the first gameplay footage of Starfield, although it was delayed last week.The Coalition’s last game, Gears 5, was released on Xbox One and PC in 2019.The original Gears Of War was released back in 2006 for the Xbox 360 and received critical acclaim. It was then remastered as Gears Of War: Ultimate Edition for PC and Xbox One in 2015.However, the subsequent sequels: Gears Of War 2 and Gears Of War 3, never received the same treatment and are only available through modern Xbox consoles via backwards compatibility.

The 2022 edition of the Cannes Film Festival will include a record number of films directed or co-directed by female filmmakers, one year after Julia Ducouranu’s “Titane” took home the festival’s top award.

Broker, starring South Korean singer IU and Parasite star Song Kang-ho, has finally arrived.The clip opens with a woman (played by IU) humming to herself as she tends to a crying baby, before cutting to a man in the driver’s seat of a car, glancing at a baby in a casket in the seat next to him.We see him transporting the baby to an undisclosed location with the help of a team, saying: “In a way, I guess you could say it’s an act of good faith?” It’s then revealed that the man has plans to sell the baby, and is part of an illegal operation that does so, with two detectives hot on their heels.Broker marks acclaimed Japanese filmmaker Hirokazu Kore-eda’s first-ever Korean-language film, which will premiere in competition at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival next month. Kore-eda previously bagged the Palme d’Or prize at the festival for Shoplifters in 2018.Featuring a star-studded cast, including Parasite’s Song Kang-ho, singer-actress IU, Bae Doo-na (The Silent Sea, Sense8), Gang Dong-won (Peninsula) and Lee Joo-young (Itaewon Class, Times), Broker follows Sang-hyun (played by Song) who sets up a baby box where parents are able to anonymously leave their babies for him find new parents for.Self-described as a “broker” of goodwill, Sang-hyun works with Dong-soo (Gang) in this line of work, during which they cross paths with So-young (IU), who leaves her own baby in the baby box.

After all, just two movies by women directors, Jane Campion’s “The Piano” and Julia Ducournau’s “Titane,” have ever won the coveted Palme d’Or.Of course, I’m thrilled for director Kelly Reichardt (“Showing Up”), Valeria Bruni Tedeschi (“Forever Young”) and Claire Denis (“Stars at Noon”), but nonetheless their movies represent a meager portion of the 18 titles in competition at Cannes.

Like the oracle he is, Canadian filmmaker David Cronenberg told us all months ago that his next film, “Crimes Of The Future,” his first film since 2014’s “Maps To The Stars,” would likely premiere at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival and sure enough, early this morning, the film was announced as part of the Cannes Competition Official Selection. Elsa Keslassy International CorrespondentA few hours after unveiling Cannes Film Festival’s 2022 Official Selection on the Champs Elysees, artistic director Thierry Fremaux sat down with Variety to discuss the festival’s drive to not give in to calls for a cultural boycott of Russian films and filmmakers, efforts to have more female directors in competition, discussions to bring back streamers in a near future and what those rumors about David Lynch in the lineup were about. The all-star competition lineup of this upcoming 75th edition boasts no less than four Palme d’Or winning directors, including Japanese master Kore-eda Hirokazu (Japan) and Swedish helmer Ruben Ostlund (“Triangle of Sadness”), as well new films by David Cronenberg (“Crimes of the Future”), Kelly Reichardt (”Showing Up”), James Gray (“Armageddon Time”) and dissident Russian director Kirill Serebrennikov (“Tchaïkovski’s Wife”).
