Andrew Lloyd Webber will 'risk arrest' to reopen his theatres in England on June 21

things were so desperate in the theatre industry he had already remortgaged his London home. The coronavirus pandemic has forced many theatres and venues to remain closed for more than a year with catastrophic financial impacts.

Even though some restrictions have been eased in England, it's not financially viable for some to open with reduced capacities.

Lord Lloyd-Webber told the Daily Telegraph he may have to sell his six West End venues if the Government does not relax its restrictions.

He is currently preparing to put on a production of Cinderella, which is scheduled to open for previews on June 25 ahead of its world premiere in July. "We are going to open, come hell or high water," Lord Lloyd-Webber told the Telegraph.
