The link between Ibiza and Manchester has been around for decades thanks to both locations having top positions in Europe’s rave scene.
Those old enough to remember the post-Madchester days in the mid-90s will know that Ibiza was the place to be for Manc revellers looking for the perfect holiday destination.
And who could blame them? It had great clubs and the one thing that Manchester usually lacks - sun. Sankeys - originally called Sankeys Soap due to it being based in Beehive Mill, Ancoats, where soap was manufactured - opened in 1994, with the first international offshoot of the world-famous club opening in Playa d’en Bossa, Ibiza in 2011.
