Grieving relatives confronted council and police officers over the scrapping of memorials at gravestones of their loved ones.
Furious family members protested the removal of tributes at Mill Lane Cemetery on Wednesday morning, sparking a large police presence at the site on Manchester Road in Stockport.
Last month, anguished families were told to get rid of small gardens set up next to headstones in honour of deceased relatives, Manchester Evening News reports.
