SEVENTEEN member Vernon has been named the first global ambassador for fashion brand Kenzo.Vernon’s appointment as Kenzo’s new ambassador was announced today by the French luxury fashion house on Instagram, in collaboration with Vernon’s personal account. In a statement on Kenzo’s official website, the brand’s artistic director Nigo said that he is “pleased and grateful to welcome Vernon into the Kenzo family”.“I feel honoured and fortunate to be KENZO’s Global Ambassador,” Vernon said of the appointment.

SEVENTEEN recently spoke about how they feel about being called “pop stars”.The boyband recently sat down with fashion publication NYLON to discussed their careers and lives as K-pop idols, during which the interviewer referred to the 13-member group as “pop stars”.However, the boyband’s members did not seem to find description as fitting, with member Vernon sharing that the moniker “sounds so cringe” to him. When asked why, he added that it’s “because I don’t really wake up and look in the mirror and think of myself as a pop star [laughs].

SEVENTEEN member Vernon has spoken about his love for English singer Charli XCX and their recent collaboration.Last month, the K-pop idol teamed up with Charli on a special remix of her recent single ‘Beg For You’, where he contributed a brand-new English-language verse. The remix came shortly after a string of online interactions between both Charli XCX and SEVENTEEN, after fans suggested that the duo work together.In a new interview with Teen Vogue, the K-pop idol revealed that he is “still having a hard time grasping this reality” that they have worked together.

SEVENTEEN member Vernon has been diagnosed with COVID-19, according to his label Pledis Entertainment.Today (February 25), the entertainment company confirmed the K-pop idol’s positive test in a statement posted to the group’s Twitter page. It noted that Vernon had begun experiencing a sore throat on February 24, which resulted in a positive result following the use of a self-test kit.“He promptly took a PCR test and was confirmed with COVID-19 on the morning of Friday, February 25,” wrote Pledis Entertainment, as translated by Soompi.
