Britain could be in for a summer of sunshine as temperatures surge to scorching levels. With many Brits unable to head off to the sun this year, the higher temperatures could be the much needed tonic we all need.
Weather charts and long-range forecasts for the end of June indicate that we could be in for weeks of sustained warmth. Although temperatures in the mid-20s seem widespread, a surge could see them rise to around 30C in the South East, according to WX Charts.
The Met Office says from Tuesday, June 30 to Tuesday, July 14 temperatures should generally be above average, possibly turning "very warm" in places.
And the BBC forecasts temperatures of 28C in London next Wednesday and Thursday as temperatures start hotting up towards the end
