Sophie Turner Talks That Viral 'Game of Thrones' Coffee Moment, Says Someone Should've Been Fired

It’s been five years since that viral Starbucks coffee cup on Game of Thrones. The moment happened during season eight, episode four, and was spotted right in front of Emilia Clarke‘s Daenerys, and it was digitally removed on Max within the next day.

In a new video for her British Vogue cover, GoT star Sophie Turner spoke about the viral moment and shared more insight to what it was like on set that day. Keep reading to find out more… “I think it was slightly embarrassing that none of us noticed it,” Sophie told British Vogue. “It was quite glaringly obvious.” “It caused quite a bit of controversy on set, actually,” she continued. “We were all kind of pointing fingers at each other and it kind of turned into like a game of [The] Traitors.” “Somebody should have got fired for that one,” she adds.

Back in October 2019, Emilia Clarke named one person who claimed they left the cup, and a couple years later, she named another “suspect” for the mishap.
