Meghan, Duchess of Sussex (born Rachel Meghan Markle; August 4, 1981) is an American member of the British royal family and former actress.
Markle was raised in Los Angeles, California and has a mixed ethnic heritage. During her studies at Northwestern University, she began playing small roles in television series and films. From 2011 to 2017, she played Rachel Zane on the American legal drama Suits. She is an outspoken feminist and has addressed issues of gender inequality, and her lifestyle website The Tig featured a column profiling influential women. She represented international charity organizations and received recognition for her fashion and style, releasing a line of clothing in 2016.

They will serve a minimum term of 34 years each for the murder of Shakira Spencer. The defendants, from west London, "treated her like a slave", scalded her feet and fed her only ketchup from sachets, the Old Bailey was told.
Ms Spencer's body was found badly decomposed on September 26 2022 after neighbours saw maggots coming from her flat in Ealing, west London, and called police.
The mother-of-two had been isolated and forced into sex work in the months leading up to her death, it was claimed during the trial.
