Fernandes opened the scoring in the early minutes before Rashford doubled the Reds' lead before the half-time interval at Old Trafford.
Victory for United ended a two-game losing run in the Premier League, following losses to Fulham and Manchester City. Now United will prepare to face bitter rivals Liverpool in the quarter-final of the FA Cup next weekend.
