A burglar who ransacked two paramedics' home over Christmas while one was on duty tried to buy champagne with his ill-gotten gains.

The thief ransacked the north London home shared by three people - making off with £3,000 worth of items including presents, a bike, laptops, cash and cards.

The Met Police said two of the flat's inhabitants are paramedics - and one was out working on the coronavirus pandemic frontlines while her house was burgled.

The force has issued CCTV images of a man detectives would like to speak to following the burglary in Islington during the weeks before Christmas.
