Big Brother bosses and new home-channel ITV are splashing out for the show's iconic return and there is set to be a major change this time around.The show was confirmed to be making a comeback after the finale episode of this year's Love Island aired when a simple message appeared showing the infamous Big Brother eye followed by a start date of 2023.ITV have confirmed they'll be building a new, standalone house for the contestants to stay in under the watchful eye of Big Brother.READ MORE: Rose Ayling-Ellis quits EastEnders role as Frankie Lewis after Strictly successThe show's executives have shortlisted potential sites for the new Big Brother house, all of which are in north London.Before news of a new house, ITV had hinted at building a temporary set within the huge Bovingdon airfield studio space in Hertfordshire for the rebooted series.A source revealed the building of a new house confirms the network are "clearly in this for the long haul".“The network plans on a successful multi-series run with Big Brother, just like Channel 4 did back in the day," the source told The Sun.The new house would remove the risk of "complicated rules and regulations of renting out a space", the source explained, before confirming it would allow the network to "pretty much do whatever they want".The original Big Brother house was situated in Bow, East London before it moved to Elstree Studios in Hertfordshire where it stayed until it was axed from Channel 5.The house was then demolished after the show's end in 2018.An insider revealed the show's bosses are “already working on designs of how they want the house to look" as they prepare for new housemates to follow in the footsteps of iconic contestants like the late Nikki Grahame, Jade
