Alvvays have announced they’ll kick off a North American headline tour in October, and have also seemingly teased new music.The Canadian dream pop outfit will commence the run on October 14 in Chicago, continuing along with shows in Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Texas, Washington, Philadelphia, New York and more before wrapping up November 18 in Boston. Joining the band on the road will be Slow Pulp.

Stella Donnelly has shared a new single, ‘Flood’, which serves as the title track to her second studio album.The single, released today (June 21), is the second to be lifted from the album following the release of ‘Lungs’ last month – which also coincided with the album’s announcement. ‘Flood’, the album, is set for release on August 26.Donnelly has also shared an accompanying music video for the new song, which she co-directed alongside producer Grace Goodwin and director of photography Nick McKinlay.

Working Men’s Club have announced a new remix EP, called ‘The Steel City’, which will see producers from Sheffield reimagine tracks from the band’s ‘Fear Fear’ album.The EP will be released exclusively through Sheffield independent record store Bear Tree as a limited-edition bonus CD alongside the new album, which arrives on July 15.Working Men’s Club frontman and songwriter Syd Minsky Sargeant has become immersed in the city’s musical community since recording their self-titled debut album there. The group’s guitarist Mairead O’Connor is also originally from Sheffield.Among the producers enlisted for the new EP are Toddla T, who tackled ‘Money Is Mine’; Charla Green, who re-worked the title track; and the band’s longtime collaborator and producer, Ross Orton, who took on ‘Ploys’.

The Snuts have announced the release of their second album, ‘Burn The Empire Out’ – find out more info below.The Scottish band’s forthcoming LP is the follow-up to their 2021 debut LP, ‘W.L.’, which topped the UK’s Official Albums Chart in April last year, marking the first time in 14 years that a Scottish band scored a UK Number One album.Speaking about the new album and how lockdown provided them with more time to tackle the topics that were important to them, frontman Jack Cochrane said: “The universe delivered us time to create a record where we finally felt we could address some of the topics, be it societal or spiritual, that we have been dying to scream out.”He continued: “There are songs about the highs & lows, stuff we really want to talk about and things we cannot help but feel, but have just never made the space to.”Due out October 7 via Parlophone Records, the album has so far been previewed by three tracks: ‘End Of The Road’ featuring Rachel Chinouriri, ‘Zuckerpunch’, and the album’s title track.Alongside the news of their second LP, The Snuts have released another track from the album, the “care-free, four to the floor, singalong indie anthem” ‘The Rodeo’. Jamie T has shared another new song from his upcoming album, this time in the form of ‘St George Wharf Tower’.The track follows the likes of ‘The Old Style Raiders’ and ‘Keying Lamborghinis’, with all three songs set to appear on July’s ‘The Theory Of Whatever’.‘St George Wharf Tower’ comes accompanied by a video directed by Jacob Erland, which sees Jamie walking along the river in Vauxhall, the song’s eponymous building – also known as Vauxhall Tower – visible in the background.“Vauxhall high-rise life,” he sings in the chorus. “Are you living in the clouds or on the A3205?/It’s hard to say but I hope you’re happy now.”‘The Theory Of Whatever’ will be released on July 29 via Polydor Records and will be the London musician’s fifth album.

Mumford & Sons frontman Marcus Mumford is reportedly set to launch a solo career.According to Page Six, the singer is said to have shared the news during a live set at a Spotify event on the French Riviera yesterday (June 20) as part of Cannes Lions International Festival Of Creativity 2022.The report claims Mumford told the intimate audience that he was performing new material for the first time, and said that it would soon be available to stream on Spotify.One attendee told the outlet: “He just said today is day one for his next thing.”Mumford has recently shared a pair of videos on social media that see him working on music in the studio. Bon Iver‘s premium sound system providers, L-Acoustics, have spoken to NME about the future of live sound and how they worked with Justin Vernon to design an immersive experience for fans.Before the recent show at New York City’s Forrest Hills stadium as part of the ‘Bon Iver, Bon Iver’ 10-year anniversary tour, Vernon first tapped L-Acoustics in 2018 to help create a panoramic soundscape of high-resolution audio for a gig at California’s Santa Barbara Bowl.Since then, the band have continued to work with the company – using their L-ISA Hyperreal sound technology – to create a deeper, direct auditory connection with fans.“It’s the 10 year anniversary of our album release, ‘Bon Iver, Bon Iver’, but it’s also a return after quarantine and COVID lockdown,” Vernon said of focusing on sound on their current tour. “We’ve gotten to be on the ground floor of something new,” he added, noting that “it’s not just two stacks of speakers in a room anymore.”The first time the Wisconsin indie band played their nuanced tracks via the L-ISA high-resolution speaker software, their engineer came up to Vernon after the performance and told him, “That’s the best show you’ve ever played, and it has a lot to do with that sound system.”“Overall, if we were to prioritise what we’re bringing to people out there [it’s] what goes in their ears,” the Bon Iver bandleader said of the importance of their sound quality.
