Sorry have shared an eerie new single ‘Waxwing’, check it out below.‘Waxwing’ is built around an interpolation from Toni Basil’s 1981 hit ‘Hey Mickey’, reverting the original bubblegum hook: “Hey Mickey/You’re so fine/You’re so fine you blow my mind“, to “Oh Mickey/You’re so fine/Wanna take you back to mine/Oh Mickey/You’re so fine/I’ll stay up late to make you mine.”A slightly heavier departure from their 2022 album ‘Anywhere But Here‘, the track explores themes of desire over an eerie, sci-fi-esque collection of sounds, as vocalist Asha Lorenz sings in a hushed tone: “Mickey is desire? Mickey is the bomb? Mickey makes me money? Mickey makes my songs? Mickey makes a poem? Mickey in the drugs? Mickey is liar? Mickey making love? Mickey is desire?”Alongside the track, the band have shared a lo-fi DIY music video directed and produced by FLASHA. Check it out below.The London indie-rock band are set to join Fontaines D.C.

Sorry have announced details of their second album, ‘Anywhere But Here’ – watch the video for new song ‘Let The Lights On’ and read our interview with vocalist Asha Lorenz below.The new album follows the band’s 2020 debut ‘925’, which NME awarded five-stars upon its release in 2020, and saw them work with producer Ali Chant and Portishead’s Adrian Utley in Bristol. Lorenz said enlisting Chant and Utley for the project was a choice made to add more of a “classic” feel to their genre-meshing sound.“We were at Ali’s studio down in Bristol, and we asked to work with them to get a more classic sound,” she explained.

Sorry have unveiled a new single ‘There’s So Many People That Want To Be Loved’ – check it out below.It’s said to be the “first taste of a future fuller release slated for later in the year” according to a press statement.Speaking about the new song and its accompanying video, Sorry’s Asha Lorenz said: “‘There’s So Many People..’ is supposed to be a bit of a sad-funny love song!“When we’re out of love we can feel detached and think ‘oh we’ll never be in love again… cry, cry’ but also try and laugh a bit… It’s easy to laugh or think you’ll never be THAT person then the next moment you can feel like the loneliest person in the world.”‘There’s So Many People That Want To Be Loved’ is the first new music from the band since the ‘Twixtustwain’ EP arrived in 2021, alongside the official digital release of their brace of 2017 mixtapes ‘Home Demo/ns Vol I’. and ‘Home Demo/ns Vol.

The Horrors are among the 20 new additions to the 2022 line-up of London’s Wide Awake festival.The event, which made its debut last year, will return to Brockwell Park in south London from May 27-28.After recently announcing Primal Scream and Bicep as their 2022 headliners, Wide Awake has now added 20 more names to their bill for this year.As well as The Horrors, the likes of Dream Wife, Alex Cameron, Grove, Harry James, Katy J Pearson, KEG, Sorry, The Golden Dregs, The Lounge Society and The Umlauts have all joined the line-up for Wide Awake 2022.Croatian Amor, Elena Colombi, Fulu Miziki, Identified Patient, Kiara Scuro, Marcus Harris, Melts, Modern Woman and Vladimir Ivkovic round off the other new additions to the bill.These acts join the already confirmed likes of Caribou, Working Men’s Club, Leon Vynehall, Floating Points and Yard Act on the Wide Awake 2022 line-up.Tickets for this year’s festival are on sale now, and you can find them and more information about Wide Awake 2022 by heading here.
