Stockport's missed bin collections down to Covid-19 illness among staff, council says

Council officials said that rising infection rates seen across the country had hit home in the borough, with more TLC staff — the authority’s waste collection contractor — having to stay home from work.

Now, councillors say that they are working hard to remedy the issue by bringing in extra resources on a temporary basis — but say it is difficult to say for certain when the situation will be fully resolved.
